Speech Therapy is a profession in which a speech-language pathologist works within a therapeutic relationship to support the development of communication skills. Therapy may address speech sounds, language comprehension, expression, fluency, or social communication across a wide range of ages and needs.
Speech Therapy is not simply practicing words. Speech-language pathologists use structured, evidence-based activities to target therapeutic goals. For example, the therapist may use play-based interactions to expand vocabulary and sentence length, practice articulation through engaging exercises, or strengthen fluency and breath control during structured speaking tasks.
All activities are carefully tailored to each child’s individual needs, ensuring therapy goals are meaningful and support success in school, at home, and in the community.
